My sister has recently taken a huge step and has opened her home to a new resident … after having rehomed Zebedee, a gorgeous and very handsome cat, they felt it was the right time to introduce a new dog … and so they found Ben.
Ben was registered with a local-to-me rehoming centre, called Happy Endings (www.happyendingsrescue.org) and so I had the chance to meet Ben at the initial meeting where they chatted through his needs as well as those of my sister and her family. Ben is nine years old and an ex-narcotics dog so has been highly trained and hasn’t had the benefit of a comfortable home life.
But now he is retired … and I think that all his Christmases have come at the same time1
He is extremely motivated by tennis balls and exchanges one for another … and runs like a mad thing too!
His attention on the ball, ready to be thrown, made it very easy for me to capture his portrait!
I am so delighted that Ben has now found his forever home … it’s a big, but exciting step and I’m really looking forward to photographing him many times in the future.
If you’ve taken that step and rehomed a dog, let me know your story bark@justaboutdogsphotography.co.uk and I’d love to hear more!
